With bases in the Cuddalore district, an area devastated by the Tsunami, the
Vidyarambam Trust has been helping to rehabilitate young children affected by
the Tsunami, some rendered homeless and others orphaned.
ReiyukaiCare joined hands with Vidyarambam to help bring primary education to a
large number of children in the district. ReiyukaiCare funded the setting up of
a Mobile Resource Center, equipped with a Toy Library, Story Books and Science
Lab Instruments.
This mobile center will visit the children periodically to facilitate them to
use the Mobile Center and benefit out of it. This mobile Center is mounted on a
Tempo Traveller, a very reliable vehicle.
Ms. J. Uma Maheshwari - Director, Dept. of Elementary Education, Government of
Tamilnadu, present at the ceremony, thanked the Reiyukai for donating the Mobile
Toy library to Tsunami affected children.
Mr. Devaprakash - Team Leader, CARE-INDIA, the gentleman who put ReiyukaiCare
and Vidyarambam together, spoke of the importance of the role of NGOs in primary
education.
Mr. R. Desikan - Chairman, Consumer Association of India, spoke about Role of
Community in ensuring quality Primary Education.
Mr. V. Ranganathan - Founder & President Vidyarambam Trust, said, “We are
extremely pleased to have the donation of a Mobile Resource Center from Reiyukai.
The vehicle will be of great use to give tremendous input to Tsunami affected
children in Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu.” He said, “We are thankful and look
forward Reiyukai support more and more in future for our educational projects.”
